What are good types of flat irons????? And do relaxers work on white peoples hair?

You cant beat GHD hair straighteners! They are expensive but they relay are the best out! and yes relaxers do work on white peoples hair just dint use the ones formulated for Afro Caribbean hair! Boots do a good relaxer for white peoples hair! xWhat are good types of flat irons????? And do relaxers work on white peoples hair?
i recommend ghds and nicky clarke straighteners. relaxers work on all hair but are usually only necessary for black hair/mixed race hair. you could try using the japanese straightening system or the boots kit but only chemically straighten your hair if you really need to, and ask your hairdresser if you can first - your hair can't be lightened at all, and must be in very good condition.

post additional comments if you want any more info/msg me and i'll try to help =o)What are good types of flat irons????? And do relaxers work on white peoples hair?
My hair is naturally thick and curly and I like to straighten it every once in awhile. I use Biosilk Silk Therapy Smoothing Solution or CHI Straight Guard Smoothing Styling Cream and either my Japanese Ceramic Digital Hair Straightener by Bion or Solia Tourmaline Ceramic Ion Flat Iron. They both work great on my thick, curly hair. I don't know to much about relaxers for Caucasian people though.
Naturally, CHI is a fantastic flat iron. I am a beautician and I own two, most beauticians own one. It is a bit costly but well worth the money. As far as relaxers go, they work on every type of hair. I wouldn't recommend buying the at home type since this is your first time applying one, but if you do follow the directions exactly as it says and I would start out with a kids relaxer such as ';Just for me';.

Relaxers simply chemically alter the texture of hair. It doesn't matter if it is ';black hair'; or ';white hair';
GBH and Chi are two of the best (these are what we use in the salon), but Ebay has a good one, I think it is Extreem or Extreme (can't remember the way it was spelled) and it was very reasonable. Look for one that is tourmaline ceramic.

Yes, relaxers work on caucasian hair, but what one must remember is even after relaxing, hair will not have that silky straightness of someone who has naturally straight hair without a little work. Relaxers do just that... relax, not straighten. You will still need to use a flat iron, but you will notice with relaxed hair the hair will be easier to straighten and stay straight longer; but as soon as it gets wet the hair reverts back to a curlier state. You would not want to remove ALL the curl out of the hair, it would be limp and fragile. The ingredient in relaxers that causes the curl to relax is lye... also the same active ingredient in Draino. If it will disolve your clogged drain, imagine what it can do to your hair if not careful. So, this is best left in the hands of a pro, if cash is a problem check out a local beauty school. All work is supervised by a licensed cosmetologist and you can't beat the prices. Good luck, hope this helped.
i love my remington hair straightner.

its amazingly worth the 30.00

the flat iron i use is called Wet2Straight it works realy good and gets realy hot but its pretty expensive around 50-70 bucks or another brand of flat iron thats pretty good is called vidal sasoon something like that
mine's called Infiniti by Conair and it works really well... it has 4 different heat settings and it lasts forever. Ive had it for like a year now
solia flat irons are a lot better than much more expensive straighteners like the chi. but if you want a flat iron that is really really good try the sedu. its more expensive than the solia which is $80, but cheaper than the chi ($200)
