Do hair relaxers make curly poofy hair straight or does it just make the curls less intense?

Some make the hair really straight, others just relax the curl.Do hair relaxers make curly poofy hair straight or does it just make the curls less intense?
Relaxers are typically put on the roots of an individuals hair to straighten them. Relaxing your whole head (roots to ends) will relax the curl somewhat, but I don't advise doing so every time you get a relaxer.

The results you get from a relaxer depend on the type of relaxer you buy, the strength of that particular relaxer, and the length of time you leave the relaxer on your head. Go talk to a PROFESSIONAL hairdresser/stylist. S/he should be able to work with you and decide what your best options will be.Do hair relaxers make curly poofy hair straight or does it just make the curls less intense?
It can do both. If you under-process your hair with a relaxer (don't leave it on long enough) then it will only loosen your curl pattern. If you leave it on for the recommended amount of time then it'll straighten it. Like others have said, it depends on the strength and type of relaxer you use, because some people unintentionally under-process their hair and other will accidentally straighten their hair. If you only want to loosen your curl pattern then you can buy a texturizer. this is still a relaxer, but it's left on for a shorter amount of time so that you only loosen your curl pattern. If you leave it on longer than recommended then you risk permanently straightening your hair.
it depend some make the hair straight which is called a straight perm but if you just get a hair relaxer then if your curls are tight ringlets then you will get just get normal curls if you already have loose curls then you will have wavy hair; I hope this helps :)
ughh i asked a question very similar to this one earlier but no one answered! if you hear anything about making your hair very straight let me know? thanks
A relaxer will relax the curls

A perm will make your hair straight.
Depends on what type of hair you have and how experienced your hairdresser is.
