Do some black men use hair relaxers?

My bf just cut his dreads out and want a shorter slick back look, can he use a relaxer to help this?Do some black men use hair relaxers?
You can, but keep in mind, that the hair nearest the scalp is the HARDEST to relax. If you do it yourself, DO NOT leave on too long, as you may know it will burn skin and/or melt the hair. In my opinion, I would not use on very short hair, it will give a wiry look and with that hair being so very resistant you may have half relaxed and half not. If you decide to do this I would have it done professionally. If it is long enough, use a flat iron( at least 200 degrees) then you still have the option for other styles if desired.Do some black men use hair relaxers?
Yes, he can get that look. There are many different types of relaxers for Black men but he should use one that suits his hair type because they make them in regular, extra strength, and extra extra strength for people with really course hair.

He will have to leave the rearranger in long enough to go all the way straight, and afterwards he will have to use some type of moisturizing gel or protein-based hair lotion to keep the hairs slicked back. The gels and hair lotions that he should use are not the same ones that people with naturally straight hair use to get the 'wet look' or the 'slick look' (like many Italian guys do). He should use the ones that are specifically made for Black hair.
I think it depends on the texture of his hair. If it is coarse, he can put a relaxer in and comb it few for a few minutes and rinse it out(it's like a texturizer). It will soften the curl in the hair. Now if his hair is not coarse, then it will only straighten the hair like a female relaxer. The best bet, is to go to a salon and have them do the first treatment, pay attention and then do it yourself the next time. If all else fails, he can always cut his hair off if the relaxer is left on too long and it is straighter than he wants.
yes but it is like 1out of 100
