At home hair relaxers. how long must you wait to wash hair?

i bought the african american hair relaxer today. but i'm white but i have very curly thick un-managable hair. it's made my hair feel gross and really dry and my ends are deader then before. can i wash my hair with my normal shampoo and conditioner today even though it says to wait 3 days? will it not work and just go back to how my hair was if i do?At home hair relaxers. how long must you wait to wash hair?
what kind did you buy? soft sheen carson is best because it protects it while straightening it. next time, condition your hair before doing so, and make sure its healthy in the first place.

dont wash it yet, just rinse it with hot water then deep condition it for about an hour. in about 2 days, then wash it.

if it doesnt seem to be getting better you should go to a professional, you might need a reconstructing treatment. At home hair relaxers. how long must you wait to wash hair?
I would not suggest using your own shampoo/cond yet just because most caucasion specific products are made to pull oil from hair/scalp, and once you get a relaxer - black person or white person - you'll need all the moisture/oil you can get. Relaxers are permanent commitment so you really have to switch up routine and products, so make the investment. This is a permanent chemical change to your hair structure, the only way it will go away is to cut it off, so unless you're into the pixie, you're stuck with it.

So unless you were already using uber moisturizing products, please wait and go to the store. I'm black but products I love are paul mitchell supercharged moisture conditioner - pick it up, as well as aphogee damaged shampoo and reconstructor treatment, or occassional hot oil. Really these are products/techniques you could've used prior to relaxing to control your unmanageble hair. Just think of black hair as really tightly curled thick un-managable hair

Now I'm assuming you applied the box relaxer and followed instructions to the T. But the damage could be caused cause you didn't neutralize your hair thoroughly and the relaxer is still kind of ';processing your hair';. If you still have neutralizing shampoo left over, use it first and repeat, if it has color alarm make sure the lather is white. Then move on to your other shampoo and a deep conditioner.
