If you wait too long in between relaxers will your hair start to break off?

Cause someone told me that and they say you get your hair relaxed every 6 weeks then you get touch ups but waiting too long in between touch ups will make you hair break off.

Can someone explain this to me cause it doesnt make sense, i thought the longer you wait the betterIf you wait too long in between relaxers will your hair start to break off?
I relax every 6 weeks, the last 2 weeks are a little difficult, but, I wait. you have to just wrap your hair every night. If you flat iron it after you wash it, then wrap, it should hold the style for 1 week. Another option is to get flexis, or a straw set to stretch out your relaxer. If you wait too long in between relaxers will your hair start to break off?
Definately not true
I depends on how fast your hair grows, not on a set schedule. I usually do it every three months. The last time I had it was in November or December. Also, don't relax your hair too often or on already relaxed hair, only on the new growth. And, you don't have to relax at the first sign of new growth either. I usually wait until the new growth is around an inch long before I relax again. Plus, the new growth helps to add volume.
it's not true, the longer you wait the better. you just have to know how to take care of your hair at the point where your two textures meet.
It is actually very healthy to wait in between relaxers. In doing so your scalp will have a chance to breathe. Relaxing every 6 weeks only can cause scalp problems, and thinning hair YIKES!!!!....your best bet is to go as long as you can between relaxers (this is called STRETCHING)..stretching can also make sure you don't overlap the new relaxer on the prev. relaxed hair......but also don't wait to long because your hair can break off. Most people go 8-10 weeks between relaxers. I'm currently 11 weeks post relaxer.

Just make sure you moisturize your hair as much as you can, and do protein treatments and your good to go.
