What are hair relaxers for ?

what is the rules for hair relaxers and what does it really intend to doWhat are hair relaxers for ?
Straightening curly hair...and getting rid of curl, wave and frizz.done by the proper qualified stylist they can be life changing....That is the one thing I would say never to do on your own nor at home they can be very dangerous....and your hair is very important....to you....

But I have performed them for women who have given me a hundred dollar tip and they were not rich people...they were just very very happy!

a Hair relaxer is the same thing as a Hair STRAIGHTENER. Its the older term we used to use. It ';relaxes'; the wave/or curl....into being straight - er

You see in the Cosmetology world you need everything to have one name or things could get screwed up... we called flat irons ';Straighteners';....so things keep getting changed around as the years go by...

A Relaxer that you are referring to is most a ';lye'; relaxer... which is a very potent chemical....and very strong. If you do not have very healthy - strong- hair, I would get a qualified professionals opinion and listen to them....But make sure you find someone who has done more then 50 of them, they are the single toughest thing to do correctly within the world of hair chemistry.

Hair relaxers are used to change the hair texture of curly or coarse hair to straight. The intent is to make the hair more manageable for different styles. The rules? I'm not exactly sure what that means. First, your hair should be in good condition. Never apply relaxer to damaged hair! Second, you should only leave the relaxer on for the recommended time for your hair. Color treated hair can be relaxed, but only after 2 weeks for permanent hair color (semi permanent color can be done the same day) Lastly, you should only relax new growth so that the ends of your hair do not become over-processed and brittle. Hope this helps.
Hair relaxants are to take the wave and curl out of Frizzy hair .

Permanent waves in reverse !!!!!

when i did my hairdressing training I was told that the chemical used in the product was similar to Oven cleaning solution , just as perming solution breaks down the suphur bonds with a chemical called Glio glycholic acid the relaxer breaks down the the sulphur bonds in the hair they must be reformed as with perming by a second solution to neutralize the first .
to straighten your hair.. ayt?! lolz.. ^^
Hair relaxers work my melting a layer of the hair strand away, making it weaker so it will not be as strong, coarse and curly, allowing the hair to lay flatter.

Hair relaxers contain a harsh acid (lithium or sodium hydroxide)

The drawback is , they also change the color of your hair because the hair is weaker, more light can get through, revealing a paler color to the hair strand
